Many people seem to believe that these raw food diet plans will help them lose weight and improve their health because raw food is said to be packed full of natural enzymes and nutrients that will help you reach your optimal health.

Actually, raw food diets aren’t something new. They date back to the late 1800s. At this point in time Maximilian Bircher Benner demonstrated how he was able to cure his own jaundice simply by eating raw apples. Over the years this healthy diet plan has continued to evolve to the point that there are now a lot of different raw food diets in existence. Most of them do agree that between 75 and 80 percent of what you eat each day should be either a raw vegetable or a raw fruit.

There are a lot of great benefits to these raw food diets. For instance, if you follow it closely, you’ll be able to lose weight because you’ll be eating less calories. Furthermore, it’s believed that a raw diet will also have positive effects on your cardiovascular health. However, you do need to be careful because if you follow a raw food diet that’s too restrictive, you could encounter some health issues.

Obviously it’s only something that you can think about and reach the right decision for. Of course, it’s a good idea to talk to your doctor as to whether or not you should try this diet.
